Our Kotanical Frankincense (Boswellia sacra) essential oil is unique, as it is ethically distilled in Ireland using responsibly sourced resin from the Boswellia Carterii tree, cultivated by a cooperative in Somalia.
With a rich history spanning thousands of years, Frankincense has been used in meditation practices, Ayurvedic traditions, and has cultural and religious significance. Enjoy the calming and comforting aroma in your home or use it as a massage oil. Frankincense can be used on its own or blended with other Kotanical essential oils to create custom fragrances and enhance its holistic appeal.

NOTE DESCRIPTION
- Spicy

HOW TO USE
- Diffuse: add 10-15 drops of essential oil – on its own or as part of a blend with other oils – to 100ml water in a Kotanical stone oil diffuser.
- Inhale: add 4 drops of essential oil to steaming water – in a bowl or as part of a facial steamer – and inhale deeply for up to 10 minutes.
- Massage: add up to 4 drops of essential oil to 2tsp of carrier oil such as coconut, almond, jojoba, grapeseed or olive oil.

All Kotanical essential oils contain 100% organic essential oil – free from sulfates, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, formaldehydes, and mineral oil, with a shelf life of 1-2 years.
The organic essential oils are vegan-friendly and certified cruelty free by the leaping bunny program.

Love this oil. Discovered it during lockdown and haven’t looked back since! I use it for grounding myself when I’m feeling anxious or stressed. A few drops on the palm of my hands and I inhale deeply…. It makes such an instant and calming difference. I love diffusing it with a few drops of Bergamot too for a really uplifting feeling around the house. A few drops in the bath is great for sleep too. Loads of uses for this oil! Love it!!

Frankincense is a wonderful essential oil to help us to calm down, slow our pace and helps us to breathe more deeply, releasing anxiety. It is also a very powerful immune supportive oil. There are various types of frankincense available on the market but not all are created equally. Firstly this is an organic essential oil which immediately makes it superior in my view. Secondly, this particular variety Boswellia Sacra is considered to have a higher vibration than the more commonly available Boswellia carterii. Its scent is subtly different due to its very high (55%) a-pinene content, a naturally ocurring component which is analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and pain relieving. Its scent is warm and balsamic, earthy and has a subtle piney undertone which is deeply relaxing. An excellent oil to diffuse for yoga, meditation and to calm and centre our energy. It is also a wonderful addition to skin care products. This oil is of a high quality, and worth paying that bit extra for. It is also great to support Kotanical our only Irish distiller!
